Storm Water Pond Maintenance
Kent County Conservation has taken over our MAJOR pond maintenance: that is pipes, grates, connections, pond interiors and more. Each pond (and we have 7 of them) has a projected failure exposure of at least $100,000.00
Woodfield still keeps mowing the grass, trimming/removing the trees, removing the growth in the pond centers and performing other cleanup items. This is MINOR pond maintenance.
Since we were already carrying out these minor tasks, the benefit to us becomes the lack of extreme monetary exposure for pond failure. That exposure would have been passed along to each property owner in the form of a special assessment.
